Day 8 - Casa Grande to Tucson

After respectfully taking the day off for the declaration of a national emergency, we have much to fill you in on.  Over the past couple of days conditions have generally been good for riders, but bad for Bubba.

Because of huge overnight rains, Bubba had to reroute us on the Interstate, which saved us about 15 miles.  In addition, our next stop at the Casa Grande campground turned into lake Casa Grande, requiring Bubba to find us all hotel rooms on a Friday night, not easy!!

The day started out with beautiful weather riding through the Sonoran Desert home of the Saguaro Cactus.

For riders that did not finish by 1pm i.e. Adrian another huge storm blew through literally  flooding the route for bikes and cars.

Amazingly Bubba got us rooms within walking distance of restaurants and bars, instead of middle of nowhere locations.  The bloggers quickly seized on the opportunity to feast on ribs and beer.

After waking up in Casa Grande, the bloggers took on their least favorite rides of the trip along frontage roads with headwinds.  Enough said about that ride, but we ended at Catalina State Park, home of our favorite photo bombs from 2018, which is our then and now for today.

In 2018, Adrian decided to crash the wedding across from our campsite partying with the bride and groom Emily & Jose.

Two years later, the only ones who would recreate the picture with Adrian were Cocobean & Eddie.
